About Me
A few of my favorite things: comfortable shoes (Birkenstocks and Crocs!), warm weather, traveling, concerts, festivals, restaurants, pubs, museums, zoos, stadium seating movie theaters, perfume, incense, massage, and cooking shows (Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver, Ina Garten, Paula Deen and Rachel Ray, among others). I love to stand at the edge of the ocean, feet sinking ever deeper in the sand. I am very organized and bursting with plans, though not particularly artistic or crafty, which really bothers me.
I graduated from Towson High School, then from Towson State University with a BS in Art History and minors in English and Medieval & Renaissance Studies. I have worked at a bakery, a couple of mall stores, as a records management specialist, an office manager, and at the front desk for an endodontist. I went to nursing school at CCBC Catonsville, and worked as a nursing tech for a bit during that time.
These days I work as a labor & delivery nurse. Within a few more years, I hope to be qualified for my dream job at a fertility clinic.
My husband Bruce and I were married December 23, 2005. Our household includes Kaya, Quinn, Phil, Collie/Lab mix Sasha, and cats Stella and Spike.
Bruce is a published author and freelance journalist, and is currently preparing to re-enter the healthcare industry.
Our daughter Kaya was born on January 5, 2005. She is gentle, loving, smart, funny, talented, stubborn, my greatest dream come true and the light of my life. Our daughter Quinn was born on February 18, 2009. She is sweet, pure and has a terrific sense of humor!
Bruce's 21-year-old son Max goes to college in Florida and has a young son, Chaose.
Bruce's 17-year-old son Phil is a Boy Scout and plays video games quite a bit. He is a senior in high school.
My dad and brother work together doing fine carpentry. My mom keeps busy caring for my girls while I'm at work (how great is that?). My brother Jeremy has an adorable daughter, Nyla, and a wonderful wife, Alex (a pediatric nurse). I also have a very close-knit extended family, all of whom I love dearly.
Bruce's three older brothers, younger sister, nieces and nephews are scattered across the USA and Canada, but his parents remain in his hometown of Buffalo, NY.
